Set up Wishlist Zero

Wishlist Zero’s storefront setup happens in Shopify’s Theme Editor. You do not need to edit your theme code.

1. Enable the wishlist drawer

From the Wishlist Zero dashboard, open the Theme Editor. Under App embeds, enable Wishlist Zero drawer, then save the theme.

The drawer gives shoppers a persistent place to review saved products, add an available exact saved variant to their cart, add all available saved items at once, or remove all saved items.

2. Add the product save button

Open your default product template and add the Wishlist Zero button app block to the main product information section. Position it near the product’s purchase actions, then save the theme.

Use the block settings to choose its layout, labels, and colors. For a full-width button, you can optionally match the nearby Add to cart button. If the result does not suit the theme, turn matching off and use the radius and padding controls instead.

3. Customize the drawer

Open App embeds → Wishlist Zero drawer to choose the heart or bookmark launcher icon, colors, drawer position, panel size, and content. Header placement is supported on compatible themes; it automatically falls back to the floating launcher when no safe header position is found. Launcher colors only affect the floating launcher. The drawer has a separate Add to cart button color, and its text color is selected automatically for readability. Accent color is also used for saved-item badges.

To add wishlist hearts to compatible product cards, turn on Show save buttons on product cards and choose the top-left or top-right position. Preview a collection and the home page before saving. Wishlist Zero only adds a button when it can identify the card and product safely.

Essential includes Custom CSS for stores that need styling beyond the standard Theme Editor controls. Custom CSS is optional and is not required for setup.

Confirm setup

Return to the Wishlist Zero dashboard and select Refresh status. Setup is complete when both the wishlist drawer and product save button show as active.

Visit a product on the storefront and confirm that you can:

Changes appear only in the Theme Editor

Make sure you selected Save. If you prepared the changes in an unpublished theme, publish that theme when it is ready.

Product-card wishlist buttons

Turn on Show save buttons on product cards in App embeds → Wishlist Zero drawer. If buttons do not appear on a customized or unsupported card, leave the automatic setting on for compatible cards and use the product card developer integration for that theme component.
